About The Position

AstraZeneca is seeking a Precision Medicine Liaison (PML) to support its oncology portfolio across Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska. The PML uses diagnostic and clinical testing market experience to help ensure timely, high-quality in-market companion diagnostics and testing solutions are available to support optimal treatment. The role engages collaborators before and after launch, provides approved information, and helps address testing barriers at regional reference labs, pathology groups, and selected academic or health systems with advanced diagnostic and molecular capabilities. The PML may also support biomarker education requests from community oncology accounts. The PML develops relationships with pathology and molecular/genomic diagnostic decision makers, gathers market insights, and supports education about appropriate testing. This includes sharing approved educational information, presenting highly technical data, and educating on diagnostic quality assurance programs. The role tracks pathology and laboratory referrals and testing information and helps improve testing processes across accounts in the assigned geography. It serves as a regional diagnostic expert for the AstraZeneca oncology portfolio where an indication has an associated biomarker. The PML collaborates with account scientific experts, laboratory decision makers, pathologists, pathology groups, state societies, navigators, diagnostic companies, and laboratory representatives or networks. Internally, the role works with field cross-functional teams, Medical Diagnostics, Precision Medicine HQ, and PM/Brand HQ Marketing to gather insights, support regional strategies, and contribute subject-matter expertise to quality improvement projects. It provides in-depth diagnostic expertise and support to oncology customers at the request of cross-functional teams, including knowledge of biomarker legislation in assigned states and support for state government affairs efforts with external pathology collaborators. The role develops and completes tactical plans for pre- and post-launch efforts, applies an understanding of clinical operational issues along the testing pathway, and develops tailored testing solutions as needed. The PML must follow the AZ Code of Conduct, US Policy Handbook, standards, SOPs, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
