About The Position
BizTek People is seeking a Pre-Service Order Entry Specialist for a client’s Radiology department in East Lansing, Michigan. The position is remote, but the employee must be a Michigan resident. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The specialist schedules and pre-registers patients, verifies insurance coverage and authorizations, enters ICD-10 codes, and completes medical necessity checks. The role also involves reviewing physician orders, providing test preparation instructions, collecting patient payments, explaining estimates and financial responsibility, and resolving registration, authorization, and financial clearance issues.
Requirements
- Associate degree in healthcare billing, accounting, or business plus 1 year of healthcare scheduling or patient registration experience; alternatively, a high school diploma or GED plus 3 years of healthcare-related scheduling, billing, and registration experience.
- Experience with healthcare scheduling or billing, insurance verification, ICD-10 coding, medical necessity, authorizations, or copay collections.
- Strong computer, typing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must pass medical terminology and analytical skills assessments.
- Must be a Michigan resident.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and pre-register patients.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.

- Review physician orders and provide test preparation instructions.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments.
