About The Position

Netflix Series Animation (NSA) is hiring a Post Production Engineer to provide frontline engineering triage for daily operational post-production issues and maintain and support the systems and shared storage platforms used by post-production. This is an IATSE Local 700 position and may be covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

The role supports remote and local editors and assistant editors, keeping editing software and post-production systems operational. It also includes managing shared storage, configuring workstations and signal routing, calibrating editorial displays, documenting systems and workflows, and supporting ingest, rendering, and data transfers.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of work in post-production engineering or technical support in a post-production facility or studio environment.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting remote desktop protocols and hardware endpoints, including PCoIP or similar.
• Practical knowledge of VPN clients, end-user home network troubleshooting, and ACLs.
• Expertise in Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Premiere, and related editing tools.
• Understanding of video codecs, display monitors, IP-based equipment, and cabling.
• Expertise in Avid Nexis storage, SMB, NFS, and complex permission trees.
• Proficiency in cross-platform troubleshooting, networking, remote protocols, and MacOS, Windows, and Linux environments.
• Basic knowledge of command-line scripting.
• Technical understanding of project management and systems requirements for Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.
• Strong command of color and audio calibration and setup, including display calibration, HDR/SDR color pipelines, and audio setups.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to help fast-paced creative teams avoid technical downtime.

Nice To Haves

• Avid ACSR certification.
• Experience supporting animation post-production workflows and pipelines, including Blender, Maya, animatic processes, and render farm troubleshooting such as Deadline.
• IT network infrastructure experience.
• Basic knowledge of automation scripts such as Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid-response frontline support and engineering triage for editors and assistant editors experiencing hardware, software, connectivity, or performance issues.
• Support 2110 and NDI infrastructure and protocols.
• Maintain operation of Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and related post-production software and plugins.
• Oversee daily operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of shared storage platforms used by Avid and Premiere systems.
• Manage post-production storage pools and user access permissions.
• Configure workstations, video and signal routing and flows, and color calibration for editorial displays.
• Create system diagrams and workflow guides for editorial bays.
• Support daily post-production operations involving ingest, rendering, and data transfers.
