The Infectious Diseases Division in Emory University’s Department of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow / Early Career Investigator to support an NCI-funded project focused on improving cervical and breast cancer prevention in Kenya. The role bridges implementation science, epidemiology, and cervical cancer prevention, drawing on implementation lessons and existing data from the BREAKTHROUGH Center’s DADA LINK and MATITI YANGU studies. The work will inform cancer prevention, patient navigation, screening, and linkage to care. The fellow will devote 100% effort to the project for 12 months and lead day-to-day scientific activities under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Chung. This position is suited to an early-career investigator seeking expertise in global-to-local implementation science, cancer prevention and linkage to care, longitudinal clinical data analysis, patient navigation, and research career development. The fellow helps design and conduct research while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator. Duties include designing and evaluating experiments, developing research ideas, and preparing and publishing scientific manuscripts under the PI’s direction. The fellow may operate specific equipment, teach techniques, and train or supervise research staff. The initial appointment is one year, with renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funding is available. Appointments are temporary research-trainee appointments and may not exceed five years. The position allows regular work from home, but requires the ability to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs and departmental guidelines. The employee must reside in Georgia. Emory may change remote-work status with notice.
