Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Physician

Comprehensive Rehab Consultants•Tarboro, NC
•Onsite

About The Position

Generation Clinical Partners (GCP), a physician-led medical group focused on older adults in skilled nursing and assisted living communities, is expanding into North Carolina and seeking a physician to work with an established skilled nursing operator in the Tarboro area. The physician will work closely with advanced practice providers (APPs). Depending on interest and availability, the role may also include medical direction. The position is part-time, with the potential to expand to full-time, and may be performed as an independent contractor or employee. The role provides onsite primary care, generally across 2–3 primary communities for a full-time physician. Physicians build a predictable rounding cadence based on patient and facility needs; there is no assigned start time or clinic template. Call is shared by phone, with no in-person call and no routine weekend or holiday rounding. Dedicated APP support helps cover patients between physician visits, and GCP provides credentialing, billing, and IT support. Tools include athenaOne configured for post-acute workflows, voice dictation and ambient scribing, and OpenEvidence or UpToDate. The position may include facility medical-director services when an appointment is available and agreed. GCP offers training, mentorship, and ongoing support, including for first-time medical directors. Part-time physician compensation can exceed $1,000 per day at sufficient clinical volume, though actual earnings depend on schedule, patient panel, productivity, quality and value-based performance, and additional responsibilities. Eligible W-2 physicians may participate in group insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, CME time, and professional development.
