About The Position
The Porter is responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of hard-surfaced floors, walls, windows, doors, drains, counters, and food service equipment, including kitchen coolers, storerooms, dining areas, and the cafeteria. The role may also assist with non-patient food services and supports the needs of patients, staff, and visitors through communication and customer service.
Requirements
- Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to respond to common customer inquiries or complaints.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean hard-surfaced floors, walls, windows, doors, drains, counters, and food service equipment.
- Clean kitchen coolers, storerooms, dining areas, and the cafeteria.
- Assist with non-patient food services as needed.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles.
- Move furniture, equipment, and other items as required.
- Stock food, paper, and beverage supplies, using proper shelf-rotation procedures.
- Communicate information about patient, non-patient, or departmental needs to Group Leaders, Food Service Supervisors, or the Support Services Manager.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Model excellent communication and customer service with patients, nursing staff, and visitors.
- Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
- Comply with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
