About The Position

A Food Service Attendant is at the forefront of customer service, providing Orlando Health patients and guests with service above and beyond expectations to support a memorable food and dining experience. The position provides food services to patients, staff, and visitors as assigned, including patient trayline setup and operation, food-cart delivery, cafeteria serving, nourishment and food preparation, and assistance with early or late trays. Depending on assignment, the role also supports non-patient food service and general cleaning.

Requirements

Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to respond to common customer inquiries or complaints.

Responsibilities

Provide food services to patients, staff, and visitors as assigned by a supervisor or director.
Set up and operate the patient trayline, deliver food carts, serve on the cafeteria line, prepare nourishments, desserts, and cold food, and assist with early or late trays.
As assigned, provide non-patient food services for staff and visitors, including hot and cold food service, salad bar operations, and general cleaning.
Communicate relevant patient and non-patient department needs to Food & Nutrition Leadership, Clinical Nutrition, Nursing, food service peers, or ancillary team members as needed.
Model excellent communication and customer service with patients, nursing staff, team members, and visitors; interact cooperatively and constructively and communicate openly, honestly, graciously, and compassionately in person, by telephone, and in writing.
Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable standards.
Comply with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
