About The Position

Magee - Women's Hospital of UPMC is hiring a full-time Food Service Attendant. The role is responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals. The attendant uses appropriate food-handling techniques and food-safety procedures throughout the job and consistently demonstrates excellent customer service. The position works rotating shifts that vary from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with rotating weekend and holiday availability required to support operating hours. A work permit is required for applicants under 18 years old.

Requirements

Act 34 clearance.
A work permit is required if under 18 years old.
Availability to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Secure necessary food and service equipment and utensils for the assigned area before meal service.
Follow department procedures for operating food-service equipment.
Inventory and stock bulk supplies as required by facility or department procedures, following established processes and timeframes.
Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script and properly identify patients.
Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs.
Deliver meals to residents' rooms when requested.
Set tables for the next meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient- or guest-specific requirements.
Maintain food safety and quality in accordance with applicable health department requirements.
Consistently follow hand-hygiene and infection-control procedures when interacting with customers.
Sanitize the assigned work area according to departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
