About The Position

CentraCare is hiring a Medical Lab Technician or Medical Lab Scientist for a generalist position at St. Cloud Hospital. Laboratory professionals perform tests on body fluids and tissue samples, interpret results, and provide information that helps nurses, physicians, and other healthcare workers understand a patient’s health. The position works in multiple laboratory areas, including chemistry, hematology, and either microbiology or transfusion services. This is a full-time position scheduled for 80 hours every two weeks. Shifts are eight hours and rotate between days and evenings; day shifts start between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m., and evening shifts start between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate degree from an accredited Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician (CLT/MLT) program.
For new graduates, degree validation must be completed within two months post-graduation.
ASCP-BOC certification within six months; the first exam must be completed within three months of hire, and certification must be verified within six weeks of the exam.
Transportation for off-campus laboratory-related activities may be required.
A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and minimum required insurance liability coverage may be required.
