About The Position

The Warehouse Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the warehouses and surrounding properties. The role includes cleaning floors and racks, organizing recycling and trash, breaking down crates and boxes, and supporting minor maintenance activities. It may also involve removing debris from external areas and providing general support to the warehouse team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of custodian or porter experience.
Knowledge of cleaning practices, materials, and equipment.
Understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Discretion and professionalism in all duties.
Ability to work as a team player and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation and push or pull up to 150 lbs. on carts or dollies.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for handling, cleaning, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain warehouse floors, racking, and general areas.
Break down crates and compact cardboard using trash compactors or designated tools.
Organize and remove trash, recycling, and surplus materials from the facility.
Notify management of maintenance issues and request supplies as needed.
Sweep and clear debris from parking lots and walkways.
Remove hazardous obstacles as needed to maintain safe exterior areas.
Assist with organizing materials within the warehouse.
Safely handle cleaning and sanitizing solutions and flammable materials such as paint, acetone, and fuel.
Support the warehouse team with tasks as directed by the Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager.
Maintain a safe, clean, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
