About The Position
The Porter is a member of the store team responsible for maintaining buildings and facilities in a clean, sanitary condition in accordance with TravelCenters of America standards. The role helps provide customers with a pleasant environment and a clean, sanitary place to visit. The job may involve exposure to outdoor elements in all seasons, fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, noise, dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions. The description notes that duties may not be limited to those listed and that other job-related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Clean all areas of the facility as directed and maintain a clean, sanitary environment for guests.
- Follow safety and security guidelines and procedures; identify and report potentially unsafe situations and take corrective action when necessary.
- Wear and use protective equipment properly and safely.
- Know the quantities and types of cleaning supplies used for each cleaning assignment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
