About The Position

The U-Box Customer Care Representative (local delivery driver) is responsible for U-Box containers and providing customers with friendly, courteous service. The role operates a flatbed truck and an 8,000-pound propane forklift or truck-mounted forklift, loads and unloads storage containers, and transports them on local routes to and from customers’ homes and businesses. Training is provided for the equipment, and the employee participates in ongoing education through U-Haul University.

The position is located at 3161 Sweeten Creek Rd, Asheville, North Carolina 28803. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in certain listed states; North Carolina is not among those states.

Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Department of Transportation certification.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck; training is provided.
• Operate an 8,000-pound propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift; training is provided.
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers on local routes to and from specified destinations, including customers’ homes and businesses.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
• Provide customers with friendly and courteous service and ensure U-Box containers are cared for.
