The Registered Nurse delivers individualized, quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with hospital guidelines, Moffitt's nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies, the ANA Code of Ethics, and external regulatory requirements. Nurses are accountable for personalized, patient- and family-centered care and apply the concepts of Duffy's quality caring model, including collaboration, dignity and respect, reassurance, appreciation of each patient's unique meaning, a healing environment, information sharing, and attention to basic human, self-care, and affiliation needs. The nurse uses the nursing process to plan and manage care, addressing patients' biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge-planning needs. Care is documented in a timely manner, with baseline and comparative documentation and age-appropriate consideration throughout planning, delivery, and evaluation. The role is associated with Moffitt Cancer Center at Wesley Chapel, a satellite clinic providing infusion therapy, radiation oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology consultations, and research in a patient-centered setting.
