About The Position
At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, a level I trauma center and academic medical center, the Campus Float Nurse provides patient-centered care across multiple units. The nurse applies clinical expertise to care for patients with varied disease processes and needs, from minor to critical, while maintaining a calm, positive, and reliable approach and building trust with patients and families. The role offers premium differentials in addition to standard night and weekend pay. Eligible new hires may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $6,000 and educational assistance of up to $10,000.
Requirements
- Active RN licensure in Nebraska or Iowa, or a compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within five months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of RN experience.
- Specialty certification, such as CCRN, CNOR, or CEN.
- Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ conditions and assess their needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and provide treatments according to physicians’ orders.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
- Provide care across multiple units and respond to a range of patient conditions, from minor to critical.
