Polisher
About The Position
The Polisher is responsible for polishing and deburring barrels. The position operates polish machining equipment and ensures parts pass visual inspection, following operator instructions and the Quality System. The work is performed in a climate-controlled environment. The position may involve access to technology or software source code subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR). Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export authorization. Applicants must provide information for export control screening; the company may decline to pursue a license or exception and may decline to proceed with an applicant on that basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions.
- Ability to operate polish and bench grinding equipment.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Ability to lift both hands extended out, rotate a 2-pound part, push, and polish.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Ability to bend, turn, and stand for several hours at a time.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety principles.
- Adhere to all Quality System standards.
- Change belts and adjust them to ensure machines function properly.
- Process components within established operator cycle times.
- Assist with on-the-job training of other employees.
- Participate in Safety, Quality, and Cost and Delivery improvements.
- Follow guidelines and procedures for the safe handling, removal, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Operate polish machining equipment and ensure parts pass visual inspection.
