About The Position

WALCO Tool & Engineering is seeking a Polisher to produce high-precision components. The role involves polishing stainless steel weldments to blend welds and establish grain direction, deburring edges on metal and plastic parts, stamping part numbers, assembling components to customer specifications, and packaging parts to prevent shipping damage. The Polisher also keeps the work area clean and organized. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime. Compensation is $21–$24 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience using handheld power tools to polish stainless steel weldments and establish grain direction.
• Experience blending and polishing welds to #4 food-grade requirements.
• Experience using deburring tools such as files and abrasive products.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
• Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
• Desire to work with hands and take pride in a job well done.
• Ability to physically lift, push, or pull objects up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Polish stainless steel weldments to blend welds and establish grain direction.
• Deburr sharp machined edges on stainless steel, common steel, aluminum, and plastic materials.
• Stamp part numbers on parts.
• Assemble machined components to customer specifications.
• Package parts to prevent damage during shipment.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
