About The Position

The Division of Administration and Finance at Cal State Fullerton provides essential services and support to a diverse community of over 45,000 students, faculty, and staff. The University Police Department (CSUF PD) within this division offers comprehensive law enforcement and safety services, including patrol, public safety, traffic management, investigations, community engagement, crime prevention, and security. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Police Records and Operations Support Technician (Administrative Support Coordinator II). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in general office, clerical, or administrative support work, or equivalent.
  • Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
  • Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas.
  • Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference.
  • Ability to effectively write and present own reports.
  • Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels, including highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act as a mandated reporter.
  • Must be able to comply with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Perform records management, administrative support, and customer service functions to ensure the efficient operation of the University Police Department.
  • Support department operations by performing Police Records Bureau functions.
  • Lead the student worker team, including training and scheduling.
  • Manage lost and found property and campus key control programs.
  • Provide live scan fingerprinting services.
  • Serve as one of the department's information technology coordinators (DITC).
  • Apply knowledge of office practices and procedures, along with university infrastructure, policies, and procedures, to provide effective support and service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
