About The Position
The Knoxville plant is hiring Plant Professionals for its food-processing production facility in Knoxville, Iowa. The plant produces dry sausage products, including PILLOW PACK® pepperoni. Employees learn and perform a variety of jobs and duties across the facility, including machine and forklift operation, packaging, boxing, and palletizing, as well as verifying product quality and accuracy. Employee safety and food safety are top priorities. Weekend work is required, and openings are available on day, night, and overnight shifts. Overtime opportunities are available. The work takes place in a refrigerated environment averaging 40 degrees Fahrenheit. New employees have a three-month probationary period during which attendance and performance are closely monitored. During probation, management may move an employee to another open position in the facility to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write to complete job-related paperwork.
- Willingness and ability to operate a forklift in accordance with company standards.
- Ability to use a computer for job-related tasks.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions throughout a shift.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull more than 50 pounds as required throughout a shift.
- Ability to twist, bend, kneel, squat, and climb as necessary to perform job-related tasks.
- Ability to perform grasping and pinching motions to complete job-related tasks.
- Follow food safety and employee safety policies.
Responsibilities
