About The Position

Introduction to the theory, issues and strategies for designing instruction and assessing student learning; examination of the Ontario Curriculum and other curriculum documents, development of lessons and units based on the Ontario Curriculum. HYBRID COURSE In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in education required; PhD degree in Education will be given preference.
  • At least one of the following:
  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario.
  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary/Junior level with specialist qualification related to Curriculum Planning and Assessment.
  • Current peer-review research file related to Curriculum Planning and Assessment.
  • Recent PhD comprehensive examinations related to Curriculum Planning and Assessment.
  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
