About The Position

The Pit Technician inspects and lubricates vehicles for customers in a quick, thorough, professional, and efficient manner. The role supports the company mission and core values while contributing to the success of the functional team. The technician completes work accurately while allowing customers to remain in their vehicles, identifies additional service needs, and follows company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
• Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting specified levels of force; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Complete work accurately and quickly while allowing customers to remain in their vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections.
• Advise the service consultant or technician of additional work needed.
• Service grease fittings, universal joints, and steering knuckles using a hand- or compressed-air-powered grease gun.
• Inspect fluid levels in rear differentials and rear axle housings.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values when interacting with customers, coworkers, managers, and suppliers.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
