About The Position

The Pit Technician inspects and lubricates vehicles quickly and thoroughly while providing professional and efficient service. The position supports the Company’s mission and core values and contributes to the success of the functional team. The technician performs work in a way that allows customers to remain in their vehicles, identifies additional repairs, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and more than 10 pounds constantly; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Complete work accurately and quickly while allowing customers to remain in their vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections.
• Advise the service consultant or technician of additional work needed.
• Service grease fittings, universal joints, and steering knuckles using a hand- or compressed-air-powered grease gun.
• Inspect fluid levels in rear differentials and rear axle housings.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values in interactions with customers, co-workers, managers, and suppliers.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
