About The Position

The Pit Technician inspects and lubricates vehicles quickly and thoroughly while providing professional, efficient service. The role supports the company’s mission and core values and contributes to the success of the functional team. Work includes performing multi-point inspections, servicing vehicle components, identifying additional repairs, and communicating needed work to a service consultant or technician. The technician must follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
• Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting specified levels of force; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Complete work accurately and quickly while allowing customers to remain in their vehicles.
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections.
• Advise the service consultant or technician of additional work needed.
• Service grease fittings, universal joints, and steering knuckles using a hand- or compressed-air-powered grease gun.
• Inspect fluid levels in rear differentials and rear axle housings.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values when interacting with customers, coworkers, managers, and suppliers.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
