About The Position

The Pit Technician inspects and lubricates vehicles quickly and thoroughly while providing professional, efficient service. The role follows and promotes the Company’s mission and core values and contributes to the success of the functional team. The technician completes work accurately while allowing customers to remain in their vehicles, performs multi-point inspections, and identifies additional service or repair needs for the service consultant or technician.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting specified levels of force; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Complete work accurately and quickly, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections.
• Advise the service consultant or technician of additional work needed.
• Service grease fittings, universal joints, and steering knuckles using a hand- or compressed-air-powered grease gun.
• Inspect fluid levels in rear differentials and rear axle housings.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values when interacting with customers, co-workers, managers, and suppliers.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
