Piano Teacher - Guilderland Music Academy (W2, Benefits Available)
About The Position
One Music Schools is seeking a piano teacher to teach at Guilderland Music Academy, its New York studio. Teachers focus on engaging students while the administrative team handles scheduling, marketing, billing, recital planning, and events. The studio provides a creative environment with themed lesson rooms, quality instruments and technology, and performance opportunities for students and teachers. The position offers flexible scheduling, paid training and career development, and a benefits package for eligible employees and their immediate family members. Compensation is $25–$33 per hour.
Requirements
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people of all ages and skill levels.
- Demonstrate teaching ability and instrument skill during an interview.
- Commit to teaching with the school for at least one year.
- Submit a music-specific résumé.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in Music Education or Music Performance is a plus but is not required.
- Ability to teach additional instruments, such as guitar, voice, ukulele, violin, cello, or drums.
- Experience teaching; the school is also open to first-time teachers.
Responsibilities
- Teach students in 30-minute lessons.
- Assess the abilities of new students.
- Create lesson plans.
- Prepare students for recitals and facilitate their participation.
- Help students achieve their learning goals.
- Communicate with parents or guardians about student progress.
