Piano, Guitar, and Voice Substitute Teacher - Strum University (W2, Benefits Available)
About The Position
One Music Schools is seeking an experienced musician to teach private piano, guitar, and voice lessons at Strum University in Phoenix. The role begins as a substitute position, with the opportunity to take on a permanent schedule of students. The teacher will provide 30-minute lessons, assess students’ abilities, create lesson plans, and help students work toward their learning goals. The position also includes preparing students for and facilitating participation in recitals, communicating with parents or guardians about student progress, and participating in group instruction for the Rock Band Program. The school’s administrative team manages scheduling, marketing, billing, and the planning of recitals and events, allowing teachers to focus on students. This is a part-time, as-needed position paying $32 per hour. A minimum one-year commitment is required.
Requirements
- Must be able to connect with people of all ages and skill levels, particularly children and teens.
- Must demonstrate teaching ability and instrument skill level during an interview.
- Must commit to teaching with the company for at least one year.
- Submit a music-specific resume.
- Basic knowledge of live sound, including how to operate a mixing board.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in Music Education or Music Performance is a plus but is not required.
- Being a multi-instrumentalist is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience teaching a rock band or playing in a band.
Responsibilities
