About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional piano instructor for part-time, in-person lessons at students’ homes through Houston Music School, Lessons on the Go. The position serves zip codes 77380–77382, 77384, 77389, 77375, and 77385 in The Woodlands area. Instructors set their availability within the school’s open hours; consistency is valued, and preference is given to candidates with greater availability. Because lessons take place in family residences, instructors need reliable transportation. Successful candidates have a strong music background demonstrated by a degree in performance or pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience; a love of teaching; experience working with young musicians; punctuality; reliable transportation; and the ability to pass a routine background check. Pay is $35–$40 per hour. Employees receive liability insurance coverage and mileage reimbursement. Health benefit options and a 401(k) with employer match are available to part- and full-time employees after 30 days of employment. Lessons on the Go is a traveling music school offering home lessons in The Woodlands and select other Houston neighborhoods. Founded in 2011, it has more than 15 teachers instructing in piano, voice, guitar, violin, and cello. Ensemble Schools is a partnership of community-driven music and dance schools that retain individual identities while sharing resources.
