About The Position

As a Casual Hospitalist Physician at Corewell Health West, you will provide high-quality patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. You will manage acute and chronic medical conditions and contribute to patients’ overall well-being. Hospitalists cover Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals, and casual physicians can pick up unfilled shifts at either location. The census goal for rounding shifts is 15 to 16 patients.

Butterworth Hospital is Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals’ flagship hospital and a regional tertiary and quaternary referral center, offering advanced medical, surgical, and specialty care. Blodgett Hospital is a community and teaching hospital in East Grand Rapids, providing inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient medical, surgical, and specialty services.

The position is part-time, with variable shifts, work hours, and days worked. Weekend frequency is variable.

Requirements

• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
• Michigan MD or DO license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute medical conditions while rounding.
• Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Pick up unfilled shifts at either Butterworth or Blodgett Hospital as needed.
