About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Physician specializing in Neurology. The role involves both outpatient clinic hours and inpatient call coverage. Clinic hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with specific outpatient appointment times on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. When not seeing scheduled outpatients, the physician must provide continuous onsite hospital coverage. Responsibilities include EEG interpretations for both inpatient and outpatient cases. The position requires 24-hour weekend call coverage and ongoing inpatient/after-hours call obligations. The expected patient load is 6-8 patients per day. The clinic utilizes the Cerner EMR system.

Requirements

Board Certified in Neurology (Board Eligible candidates not accepted).
Active Michigan state medical license required at time of credential verification.
Active DEA registration required.
Clean malpractice history details must be provided, including carrier information and coverage limits, confirming inclusion in rate.
Self-query NPDB status (to be completed within the past month).

Nice To Haves

BLS and ACLS with NIH Stroke Scale/tPA competency preferred.

Responsibilities

Interpret EEGs for inpatient and outpatient cases.
Provide continuous onsite hospital coverage when not seeing scheduled outpatients.
Manage outpatient clinic appointments.
Handle inpatient and after-hours call obligations.
Perform Radiologic Exam Interpretation.
Perform Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap).
Perform EEG.
Perform Brain Death Examination.
Perform Evoked Potentials.
