About The Position

The Physician Network Liaison builds positive relationships between physician practices and the medical team. The role develops and markets ideas to engage physicians and increase awareness of services provided by the medical practices. It is based in the Chicago, Illinois area and involves regular regional travel to partner locations, company meetings, and events. The position is based in a professional office setting and is also field-based.

The Liaison develops and maintains relationships with physicians, healthcare administrators and personnel, and communities in the target market. The role evaluates market, competitive, and financial information to shape marketing and public relations strategies; provides education to doctors and staff; supports continuing education activities; maintains co-management records and patient reporting; monitors trends and communicates proactively with physicians; and ensures compliance with applicable regulations. The Liaison also manages educational-material inventory and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build and maintain strong rapport with physicians, staff, and patients.

• Ability to perform sedentary work requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
• Regular regional travel, including driving and/or other forms of transportation.
• Regular use of hands and fingers for keyboarding and other standard office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means and to hear and understand spoken information in person and electronically.
• Visual acuity to ensure accuracy of work on screens and in documents.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in sales preferred.
• Previous experience in the medical field preferred, with optometry or ophthalmology given precedence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, healthcare administration and personnel, and communities in the target market.
• Evaluate market data, competitive information, and financial data to determine effective marketing and public relations strategies for accomplishing business goals.
• Provide education to doctors and staff.
• Attend and assist with continuing education seminars, mini fellowships, and Lunch and Learns.
• Maintain the co-managing physician database, including contact information and mailing lists, touch history, and co-management standing orders.
• Provide reporting and analysis on co-managed patients.
• Monitor trends for process improvement and manage customer relationships through proactive communication with physicians.
• Maintain compliance with Stark, CMS, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and communicate supply needs to suppliers in a timely manner.
• Regularly verify the quantity, correctness, and condition of educational supplies in company practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
