About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus South (South High Street) is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports compassionate, excellent care by assisting with physical therapy services and carrying out therapeutic interventions established by a physical therapist. The position is full-time and located in Columbus, Ohio, with compensation of $24.00–$37.00 per hour based on experience.
Requirements
- Valid state PTA license.
- Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Responsibilities
- Assist with delivery of physical therapy services, including patient transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
- Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
- Assist the physical therapist with interventions supporting patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening; and pain relief.
- Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
