About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus South is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Physical Therapy Assistants provide compassionate treatment and assist with physical therapy services for patients during recovery. The position is full-time in Columbus, Ohio, with compensation of $24.00–$37.00 per hour based on experience.
Requirements
- Valid state PTA license.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Responsibilities
- Assist with delivery of physical therapy services, including transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
- Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist (PT).
- Assist the PT with therapeutic interventions designed to meet patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening; and pain relief.
- Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
