About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Physical Therapy Assistant in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting in Winchester, New Hampshire. The assignment starts on 09/28/2026 and lasts for 15 weeks. The role involves providing direct physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist within a long-term care rehabilitation environment. Responsibilities include assessing patients, implementing and adjusting treatment plans, documenting progress, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and supporting discharge planning.
Requirements
- Current PTA license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain licensure in NH
- Ability to work effectively in a LTAC/long-term care rehab setting under supervision of a physical therapist
- Solid communication skills and ability to document clearly and concisely
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in skilled rehab or LTAC settings is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to patients under supervision of a licensed PT in a LTAC/long-term care rehabilitation setting
- Assess patient status and implement, monitor, and adjust individualized treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance, and range-of-motion activities
- Document patient progress, outcomes, and any changes in plan of care; communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team
- Remain compliant with safety protocols, infection control, and device/orthotic use as indicated; supervise and assist with modalities as permitted
- Support discharge planning and provide patient and family education to promote continuity of care and home program adherence
- Maintain appropriate equipment, organize therapy space, and contribute to a positive, collaborative rehab environment
