About The Position

This is a travel Physical Therapy Assistant (LTAC) assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The assignment is for a 13-week duration with a start date of 09/14/2026. The role is in a Skilled Nursing Facility with long-term acute care components. The position involves assisting licensed PTs in evaluating and treating patients, implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient responses, ensuring patient safety, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

Active Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the applicable state
Graduation from an accredited PTA program
CPR/BLS certification
Ability to work in a long-term acute care / skilled nursing facility setting
Willingness to work a 5x8 day shift schedule and travel assignment requirements

Responsibilities

Assist licensed PT in evaluating and treating patients within a LTAC/SNF setting under supervision
Implement treatment plans including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, ROM, and functional mobility activities
Monitor patient responses, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising clinician
Ensure patient safety during all mobility and transfer activities; maintain equipment and therapy space
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning and goal attainment
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory and facility policies
