About The Position

This is a temporary travel assignment for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting within a skilled nursing environment. The assignment is for 13 weeks and requires the PTA to support patients in restoring and maintaining mobility, strength, and functional independence. The role involves implementing therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, transfers, ROM activities, and balance training under the supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA will also be responsible for monitoring patient responses, documenting progress, preparing treatment spaces, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

Eligible to work in the United States
Ability to perform PTA duties in a LTAC setting under supervision
Strong communication and documentation skills
Reliability and ability to participate in a 13-week assignment with guaranteed hours
Ability to work the listed shift schedule (08:00–16:30) and adapt to a travel assignment

Responsibilities

Provide PTA support under supervision for patients in a long-term acute care setting, focusing on restoring and maintaining mobility, strength, and functional independence.
Implement and assist with individualized therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, transfers, ROM activities, and balance training.
Monitor patient responses to interventions, document progress, and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
Prepare treatment spaces, set up equipment, and ensure proper infection control and safety procedures are followed.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to adjust plans of care and communicate patient goals and progress.
Document sessions accurately in patient records and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
