About The Position

Rehab Associates, partnered with Barren Ridge PT, is hiring a Physical Therapist for its growing outpatient practice. Rehab Associates serves Central Virginia through 19 outpatient clinics and emphasizes clinician support, professional development, and patient outcomes. The role assesses patients, develops individualized treatment plans, delivers physical therapy, and documents patient progress and care. The position offers opportunities to pursue specialty practice areas such as Pelvic Health, Vestibular, Concussion, Spine, TMJ, and Foot & Ankle, supported by mentorship and continuing education.

Requirements

Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
Ability to work independently while managing a diverse patient caseload.
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
Review physician referrals, patient conditions, and medical records to determine required physical therapy treatment.
Provide direct patient care according to established protocols and patient care guidelines.
Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients and caregivers.
Oversee patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
Complete written plans of care, set goals based on evaluation findings, and develop comprehensive programs to achieve those goals.
Implement physical therapy treatment programs and provide physical therapy treatments.
Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, professional colleagues, physicians, and insurance companies.
Complete timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
