About The Position
Rehab Associates is hiring a Physical Therapist to provide outpatient care at one of its clinics in Central Virginia. The therapist evaluates patients, develops and implements treatment plans, provides physical therapy treatments, and documents patient findings and progress. The role also includes responsibility for care provided by assistants and rehabilitation technicians and communication with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies. The position offers opportunities to develop expertise in areas such as pelvic health, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion, spine, TMJ, and foot and ankle care. Requirements
- Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Hold a current Virginia license or be able to obtain one.
- Have CPR certification.
- Be able to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation treatment plans.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment.
- Have basic PC skills and knowledge, including electronic medical record systems, database software, and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
- Review physician referrals, patient conditions, and medical records to determine required physical therapy treatment.
- Provide direct patient care according to established protocols and patient care guidelines.
- Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients and caregivers.
- Take responsibility for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
- Complete written plans of care and develop goals and comprehensive programs based on evaluation findings.
- Implement physical therapy treatment programs and provide physical therapy treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, professional colleagues, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Complete timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers’ compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
