About The Position
The Chesapeake in Newport News, Virginia, is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist to join its therapy team. The role involves screening and evaluating patients, re-evaluating their progress, planning discharges, and revising established plans of care under physician supervision. The Chesapeake is a 40-acre Life Plan retirement community. Functional Pathways provides clinical services across the continuum of care, using evidence-based, holistic, patient-centered programs addressing neurological, cardiopulmonary, cognitive, and musculoskeletal needs. Specialty programs include aquatic therapy and non-invasive interventions. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to direct applicants only.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
- Active state license and certification/licensure required by state and national board associations.
- Complete all required screenings, certifications, and licensure; screening requirements may vary by location.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current working knowledge of Functional Pathways policies and procedures and clinical programs, with application skills relevant to therapy disciplines.
- Ability to supervise Physical Therapy Assistants.
