About The Position

The Phlebotomist adheres to policies and procedures while carrying out routine tasks, collecting and processing patient specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols, and performing laboratory tests, including pre- and post-analytic phases. The role prepares samples for accurate and reliable results by following collection procedures. This is a part-time, on-site position at Virtua Health’s Voorhees location, working the second shift for 17.5 hours per week.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy training required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred.
• ASCP, NHA, or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients, perform phlebotomy, and label specimens.
• Verify, process, and ship specimens, and front-load specimens onto instruments for testing.
• Perform pre-analytical processes, including registration and ordering.
• Provide outstanding customer service through effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
• Perform clerical functions, including telephone communication, report generation, and faxing.
• Follow laboratory protocols and collection procedures to help produce accurate and reliable test results.
