About The Position

The Phlebotomist collects and processes patient specimens for testing in accordance with laboratory protocols and established collection procedures. The role performs laboratory work across pre- and post-analytic phases, preparing samples to support accurate and reliable results. It also involves patient identification, specimen handling, registration and ordering, customer service, and clerical tasks. This is a part-time, on-site position at Virtua Health’s Voorhees location, working the second shift for 17.5 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal phlebotomy training.
Previous customer service experience and demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work.
Good interpersonal and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a medical setting.
ASCP, NHA, or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

Identify patients, perform phlebotomy, and label specimens.
Verify, process, and ship specimens, and front-load specimens onto instruments for testing.
Perform pre-analytical processes, including registration and ordering.
Provide outstanding customer service through effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
Perform clerical functions, including telephone communication, report generation, and faxing.
Follow laboratory policies and procedures when carrying out routine tasks.
