About The Position

Vitalant is seeking a lead phlebotomist to support its donor care team and provide comfortable, convenient, and consistent blood donation experiences. The role is primarily mobile: most days involve conducting blood drives around town on a company bus, while other days involve working with donors at a local donation center. The position also supports staff with interviewing and phlebotomy processes, serves as the on-site contact for blood drive coordinators, and assists with direction and supervision of Donor Care Technicians. The role is based in Tempe, Arizona, and requires driving company vehicles and travel as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Active driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to complete and pass the CDL license program.
Ability to travel as required.
Successful completion of the supervisory training program within six months.

Nice To Haves

Two years of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Function as an operational lead, supporting staff with interviewing and phlebotomy processes and providing coaching when needed.
Serve as the primary point of contact for blood drive coordinators on-site.
Coordinate setup and breakdown of equipment for mobile blood drives.
Ensure blood donors are comfortable and informed during the phlebotomy process.
Assist the Manager or Supervisor with direction and/or supervision of Donor Care Technicians, and provide input for employee performance evaluations.
Drive company vehicles, including vans and buses, to blood drive sites.
Conduct blood drives and interact with donors at local donation centers.
