About The Position

Vitalant is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to support its donor care team and help provide comfortable, convenient, and consistent blood donation experiences. The role operates as a lead during mobile blood drives, typically held on company buses, and may also involve working with donors at local donation centers. The Lead Phlebotomist supports staff with interviewing and phlebotomy processes, serves as the on-site contact for blood drive coordinators, helps direct or supervise Donor Care Technicians, and contributes input to employee performance evaluations. The position also involves setting up and breaking down mobile-drive equipment and driving company vehicles to drive sites. The position is based at 1524 West 14th Street #120, Tempe, Arizona. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, with hours varying according to blood drive events. The stated salary is $25.18–$26.02 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Active driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to complete and pass the CDL license program.
Ability to travel as required.
Successful completion of the supervisory training program within six months.

Nice To Haves

Two years of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Function as an operational lead, supporting staff with interviewing and phlebotomy processes and providing coaching when needed.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for blood drive coordinators.
Coordinate setup and breakdown of equipment for mobile blood drives.
Ensure blood donors are comfortable and informed during the phlebotomy process.
Assist the Manager or Supervisor in providing direction and/or supervision to Donor Care Technicians, and provide input for employee performance evaluations.
Drive company vehicles, including vans and buses, to drive sites.
