About The Position

Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at Lourdes Hospital. The role draws blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and completes clerical tasks to support efficient department operations. Duties also include order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly, helpful manner. This position is PRN and requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, high-quality customer service to patients and community members.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match their identities to the correct services.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
