About The Position

The Lab Assistant (Phlebotomist) PRN supports healthcare services by accurately collecting and processing blood samples for diagnostic testing. The role helps maintain the quality and integrity of laboratory results that inform patient care and treatment decisions. The Lab Assistant works with healthcare professionals to support efficient patient interactions and a positive sample-collection experience, while following safety and hygiene protocols that protect patients and staff. The position provides reliable and timely laboratory support to the healthcare team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
• Current phlebotomy certification from a recognized organization.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques.
• Attention to detail for accurate sample labeling and processing.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and explaining procedures.
• Organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient laboratory environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary collections on patients of all ages while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Label and process blood samples accurately according to established protocols and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace, including equipment and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members regarding procedures and results.
