About The Position

The Phlebotomist is part of the Laboratory Department and is responsible for collecting quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and completing clerical work that supports efficient department operations. The role includes order entry, result look-up, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and community members respectfully.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service to support patient safety.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform departmental clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
