About The Position

The Laboratory Department at Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties that support efficient department operations. The position includes order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The role requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage with staff and patients professionally.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful customer service to patients and the community.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match their identities to the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as required by test orders.
• Perform departmental clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
