About The Position

Regency Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacy Technician completes pharmacy tasks and services and is responsible for the pharmacy’s daily operations within established policies and guidelines. The technician works under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, may work independently, and does not provide direct patient care. This is a per diem position at Regency Hospital in Springdale.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Must have a Pharmacy Technician license.

Responsibilities

• Complete pharmacy tasks and services and manage daily pharmacy operations within established policies and guidelines.
• Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist while also being able to work independently.
• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Deliver appropriate medication quantities to the correct patient areas.
• Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain pharmacy drugs in accordance with the Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Monitor doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintain forms and reports necessary to control narcotics and other controlled substances.
