About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Richmond is seeking a per diem Pharmacy Technician in Richmond, Virginia. The technician completes pharmacy tasks and services and is responsible for daily pharmacy operations within established policies and guidelines. The role works under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, may work independently, and does not provide direct patient care. Compensation is $27.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification, unless required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Complete pharmacy tasks and services and support the daily operations of the pharmacy within established policies and guidelines.
• Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and work independently as appropriate.
• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Deliver the appropriate quantities of medication to the correct patient areas.
• Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain pharmacy drugs in accordance with the Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Monitor doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintain forms and reports necessary for controlling narcotics and other controlled substances.
