Per Diem Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
Genoa Healthcare seeks a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support the functions of its mental health and specialty pharmacy. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the technician primarily dispenses medical prescriptions and performs necessary clerical duties. The role supports consumers and clinic staff and helps people with complex health conditions obtain medications and follow treatment plans. The position is per diem and works on an as-needed basis to cover PTO, callouts, and other business needs. The location’s regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pharmacy is at 240 West Tyrone Rd., Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Tennessee.
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- At least 6 months of Pharmacy Technician experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and clinic staff.
- Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
- Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
- Verify medication stock and enter data into the computer to maintain inventory records.
- Work with the pharmacist to assist with pharmacy functions and maintain compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Perform clerical duties relating to the department.
- Communicate professionally using strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
