About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacy Technician supports the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with established policies and guidelines. The technician may work independently but does not provide direct patient care. The position is per diem and is located inside Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Compensation is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification, unless required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Deliver the appropriate quantities of medication to the correct patient areas.
• Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain pharmacy drug supplies in accordance with the Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Monitor doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintain forms and reports necessary for controlling narcotics and other controlled substances.
• Perform daily pharmacy operations in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
