Pharmacy Technician, IV Admix, PRN, Baptist Downtown
About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered IV Admix Pharmacy Technician for a PRN position at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. The technician will work primarily in the central pharmacy and IV room, preparing sterile compounds and providing medications throughout the hospital. The role also includes restocking operating room anesthesia workstations and medication cabinets. The technician must be comfortable wearing full personal protective equipment for most of the shift, working as part of a team, and standing for extended periods. The position works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Positions requiring Level II background screening are subject to detailed fingerprint-based state and national criminal-history screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- High school diploma.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
- Valid driver's license.
- Comfort wearing full PPE for most of the shift, working in a team environment, and standing for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT).
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist on duty in preparing and distributing medications.
- Fill automated dispensing cabinets and unit-dose medication orders and envelopes.
- Perform basic reconstitution of oral suspensions.
- Maintain drug inventory and package medications.
- Comply with USP 797 standards when compounding IV admixtures and preparing TPN.
- Prepare sterile compounds and provide medications for the hospital.
- Restock operating room anesthesia workstations and medication cabinets.
